Ukiah-Dale State Park

This weekend we went camping just a few miles from Ukiah and Elk camp.

Chris took us to where his trail camera is set up so we could put another chip in it.

Pretty wild flower

We stopped off at Elk camp to ride the 4-wheeler

What camping trip wouldn't be complete without roasting marshmallows!
The campground was great for Austin to ride his bike in.  We could almost see the entire loop from our campsite, all 20 of them. The camp host had sprinklers running which Austin rode his bike through to cool off. There was a small creek nearby full of fun critters to catch.  We caught a few crayfish & garter snakes, one of which bit Austin. It was a very small one, so it was funny to hear him grab it, yell "I got him....oh he bit me!"  Lets just say the snake got his wish and was set free immediately without even leaving a mark on Austin. It was very hot, almost 100 degrees on Saturday until a thunder/rain shower came through and the temperature dropped below 70!  What an answered prayer that was!  Evan was looking very hot, so the cooler weather made him feel much better.  This campground is definitely a place we'd head back too!
